Are women who are in federal PCIP plans covered with the same women’s preventive benefits that were announced August 1, 2011?

No. The new rules about women’s preventive services do not apply to PCIP plans. However, many of these preventive services are covered without cost-sharing.  Contact your plan to learn more.

Do I have a copayment for my annual physical exam? The clinic said no copayment was needed, but I was later billed for it.

It depends on your situation. People with Medicare receive a free annual wellness exam and a range of no-cost preventive services. Learn more about Medicare Preventive Services.

For people with individual or job-based health insurance plans that are not grandfathered, the Affordable Care Act makes certain preventive services available without a copayment.
